It also contains over 1000 wood engravings that illustrate the text. The book was published by Houlston and Wright in London in 1861. It is a revised and enlarged edition of Philps earlier book The Reason Why, which was first published in 1856. Additional remarks, binding is loose, first three pages are not attached to book, light foxing on pages.
