Atomic Energy for Military Purposes is a book by Henry DeWolf Smyth, published by Princeton University Press in 1946 in a sixth printing. It is the official public report on the atomic bomb, also known as the Smyth Report, that was released to the public after the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. The book provides a general account of the development of methods of using atomic energy for military purposes, the basic physical processes behind them, and the administrative history and structure of the Manhattan Project.
