The book reveals the harsh conditions and brutal punishments that the boys endured on board the ship, as well as the stories of some of the inmates who escaped or rebelled. The author, Frank Purcell, is a former journalist and historian who researched the archives and interviewed some of the surviving ex-prisoners. The book was published by Frank Purcell in 1997 and has 172 pages. Limited numbered edition #58 out of 300 numbered copies.
